Homesickness!

Steve has told me lately that he has had a few very homesick moments. I tell him that we will get to go visit soon but today I am super homesick!
I miss. . .
-Hanging out with Cassie and Preston and watching movies,
-Going to my Dad's for Sunday Dinners,
-Calling my Grumpa and practically forcing him to feed me,
-The beautiful mountains and real snow,
-Hanging out with "the guys & wives" in Logan,
-Visiting my in-laws at their gorgeous home,
-Nice people,
-My friends,
-Utah State and campus,
-my mom randomly visiting me,
-my sister Amanda and her family,
-my little monkey,
-the temple being sooo close,
-feeding the ducks,
-Costa Vida, Einsteins, Jamba Juice, and Chilis
-and a decent craft/decoration/quilted bear type store!

So I thought I was being smart by putting a few ideas down for Valentines, however I didn't plan for my car to get broken into, or the temp job I got, or the work my husband's company needed me to do, or the running around the week before to interrupt all of my plans.

Tuesday night, I was invited to go shopping with one of my neighbors. I was really excited to go because I haven't had any "girl" time in a while. After spending a night at the mall and finding a really cute bookcase at Target, I drove home to my little condo and called it a night.

Wednesday: My new Relief Society President asked to meet with me around 11:45 so I planned on waking up to pick up from the night before and make sure everything was all clean for when she arrived. 12:00 rolled around and still no sign of her and I was supposed to go help someone with something. . . I got my coat and keys and walked out to my car to find the door not shut tight, I looked inside and knew automatically what happened. It had been broken into. The robbers stole my husband's new GPS, two books of CD's, they tried to pull out my CD player, they took all of our phone chargers--and more. They even took my stinking Victoria's Secret Lotion---Bastards. That's all I can say about them. Steve got mad at me because I probably used that word 20 times that day. Whoops.
The worst thing about somebody breaking into something that you own is that you feel violated---What if they had been watching you? Do they know which unit is mine or what I look like? Scary-- needless to say I have been getting up to check my house in the middle of the night.
While the cop was making a report, I found out another person in my condo complex had also had there car broken into. Our HOA lady was pissed!
Right as the cop was done, my Relief Society President walked up to me. I guess our appointment was at 12:45. Another Whoops. Thank Heavens she was forgiving.
After that, I ran to help this lady of a friend out with some temporary work. I stayed late and asked my husband if we could go to Olive Garden. That turned into a work ordeal bringing his dad who is also his boss and and a sub-contractor that his company uses to my dinner as well. HMMM. That night ended with a headache.
Thursday- More Temp work. Ran to another job interview. My husband's company landed a HUGE job.
Friday- The lady I have been helping went out of town so I worked for A.R.S.--my husband's company all day long. We are packing up all of the contents of what's left of a house that nearly burnt all the way down so A.R.S. can start the reconstruction. This particular family has a TON of stuff. After work, we stopped for food and than came home smelling like we had been camping for a week. I jumped right in the shower after all of my clothes went into the washer.
Saturday- Worked a half day for A.R.S. and than went home to shower again and ran out to get some stuff for Valentines.

I did end up getting red balloons for Steve and I got to dip Strawberries in chocolate later that night. Steve got called back to work and begged me to go with him so I did. When we got home, I went to bed because my stomach was hurting so bad.

Sunday- Pulled everything together and it turned out so cute. Steven got me a matching bookcase to the one I liked because we needed two, he bought white flowers and told me it was because our love was pure and it reminded him of our wedding, a cute stuffed polar bear that I named "Wumpkins," and a box of truffles! I got him two dozen red heart shaped balloons, blow-pop suckers (his fav.), chex mix (another fav.), Lindt white chocolate (because he's not a fan of regular chocolate), and a new beanie because he really needed a new one.

Valentines

Because Steve really never looks at our blog, I thought I would jot down a few ideas here for Valentines.

1) I want to dip chocolates, strawberries, oranges, and cinnamon bears. I am really excited. I have dipped fruit in chocolate before, but I watched a few tutorials online and got some great ideas on how to decorate them. Here is a link to the videos that I liked most.

I also saw these chocolates from Harry and David for other cute decorating ideas.

Since Valentines is on a Sunday, we could go out the night before or celebrate it at home on Sunday. If we went out the night before, Steve wants to go to an Italian Restaurant. If we stay home, I want to learn how to make Fettuccine Alfredo.
I think I am kind of leaning for staying in. I love to break out our Champagne glasses and buy yummy Sparkling Cider. This is a picture from last year's Valentines dinner.

I also want to get some balloons and some treats for Steve-- The only problem is how do you hide balloons for a day or two? What else do you get a husband who doesn't want you to spend money on him?!!
