Valentines

We celebrated our second Valentines together this year! It was so nice. The day started off early for Steven. He woke up at 4 in the morning to set a candy trail of kisses from our room, in the hall, down the stairs, into our front room to more chocolate and flowers. It was so cute! The note he wrote with it was so wonderful, I was crying like a little girl when I read it.
I woke up at 7 in the morning to make Steven breakfast in bed consisting of vanilla French toast topped with fruit and orange juice. It wasn't much, but it was really good! The best part is, Steven had no idea that I was making breakfast for him. He got to wake up to a breakfast surprise!
Both Steven and I worked later that morning, but I was able to get off early enough to come home and make dinner for us that night. Even though I got off around one, I was still running around trying to get the house clean, make dessert, cook dinner, and get cleaned up all before Steven got home.
I started making the breading for our Chicken Parmesan and cleaning the chicken. Once the chicken was ready to go into the oven and the mess I made from it was all cleaned up, I started our dessert, chocolate dipped fruit. Steven is not a huge fan of regular chocolate which presents a huge problem when it comes to making a dessert. In my mind chocolate=dessert, so instead of dipping all the fruit in milk chocolate-- I dipped half of it in white chocolate
For my first time dipping fruits, they tasted great. After all of the fruit dipping was done, I cleaned up our little house, took a shower, and prepared dinner. Thankfully, I tied it all together by the time Steven got home. The dinner was not anything amazing, but it was perfect for us. We had sparkling cider and candles, we had each other-- it was wonderful! All in all, we may not have had anything exciting or gone to some fancy restaurant, but this Valentines was the best ever!
